According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, 30% of individuals who were convicted of violent felonies were under the age of 21.[1]   This stat is important for two reasons.  First, the number of individuals convicted of violent felonies is steadily rising.  Secondly and more concerning, a significant number of those folks with violent felony convictions are under 21 years old. Sadly, Eighty-one percent of violent felons were sentenced to incarceration with 50% going to prison and 31% to jail. Nineteen percent received a probation term without incarceration.[2]  As I have told countless clients, aside from probation and incarceration, there are many other collateral consequences associated with a felony conviction, including difficulty finding future employment and housing.

Felony ConvictionsWe pride ourselves on finding creative solutions to your legal problems.  As previously mentioned, there are many collateral consequences associated with a felony conviction.  It is our job first to notify our Clients of these issues, which are often not directly related to the conviction.  Again, no one would think that a conviction for a felony driving while license suspended or revoked charge would make it difficult to find housing or future employment, but it does. it can also effect your ability to access student loans in the future.

Our Office has handled thousands of criminal cases throughout Central Florida.   If you have questions concerning the impact of a felony conviction on your future, contact our Office for a free consultation.  We have handled cases ranging from white collar crimes to felony drug possession to all degrees of murder.  We have three convenient methods to contact our Office.  First, you can use our free, secure chatbox in the lower right hand of our website, where you will seak to one of our attorneys, not a paralegal or case manager, like other firms.  Secondly, you can use the “contact us now” tab in the upper right hand corner of our website.  Lastly, you can always call our Office.  We have operators standing by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your questions and issues.  We look forward to working with you and thank you for visiting our website.
